Remember your skin care routine doesn't have to be within the same skin care line. The skin care industry has a wide variety of products to choose from. For all skin types and sensitivity. You can try and find your skin care routine yourself or go to a store that sells skin care and let a consultant guide you in what you should try. You can also see a dermatologist but I feel that's needed when you really can't find anything to help you. Those that don't struggle with acne or breakouts it doesn't mean you still shouldn't have a skin care routine. Cleansing and moisturizing are the two most important steps. Most people ignore toning so that's why I say those are the two most important.
**How to help avoid breakouts
• minimize your intake of greasy food
• make sure you have a decent amount of water intake in your diet
• don't touch your face! No matter what your hands are filled with germs even when they feel clean
• change your pillow cases often. Remember your hair carries oils that remain on your pillow case and so does your face
• wash your face before bed and remove all make up. Even if you don't wear any still wash your face
**How to: choose your cleanser:
• figure out your skin type. Are you dry, oily, normal or do you have combination skin?
• Make sure your cleanser doesn't make your skin feel dry & tight. It could be too much for your skin
• Cream cleansers work better with dry skin because they don't strip your face of essential oils, but still remove dirt and all the other bad stuff :)
• Gel cleansers work better for oily skin since they absorb excess oil
• If you have sensitive skin you probably want to make sure the cleanser is free of parabens, harsh chemicals and artificial fragrance just to avoid any possible irritation
• Lastly, if you have normal skin woohoo! you don't have to be as careful as someone with sensitive skin so go for something basic that still gets the job done and cleans all the yucky stuff off of your face
** Cleanse twice a day!! no more than that..Morning and night
** Best way to find out what works for you is by trying it out! Stop by any Sephora and sample some stuff. It allows you to try a product and see how your skin reacts before purchasing.
**HINT: If you're really afraid something will be too harsh you should try it first on a sensitive part of your arm before applying it to your face.
**How to: choose your moisturizer
Same as a cleanser you should first know your skin type.
People with oily skin don't think just because you have oily skin you don't have to moisturize..you do!! Your skin deserves hydration as well :)
• Keep in mind moisturizers with a rich texture are more ideal for dry skin since they tend to be more hydrating.
• something lighter in texture would be more ideal for an oily skin type
• anything in between should be fine for combination skin.
**Moisturizers usually label and let you know the kind of skin type it is good for so just pay attention to that :)
**Make sure you like the feel and scent to your moisturizer as this will be directly placed on your face
For those with acne many skin care lines provide treatments to be used along side your skin care routine but it's all about finding the right one for your skin type by knowing it and trying things out. When nothing is working the best thing to do is see a dermatologist.
By following some of the steps above you should be on your way to nice and clean skin!
**exfoliating and getting facials every now and then should be done as well just to give your skin that extra cleaning.
Having a clean base and canvas is the best way to start for flawless make up application!
Hope this helped good luck! xo
